Is new age music only for senior people?

I love new age music Im 19 years old my friend told me that his grandmother listen to new age music and that I am weird..

isn’t new age music…a fresh new sound

please explain

    I have a friend who is 25, and she fronts a new age band.
    Age doesn’t matter when it comes to listening to music.
